Individual exhibition, mixed media, Krakow 2023
Bachelor's thesis completed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Faculty of Intermedia, under the supervision of Doctor Justyna Górowska and Professor Bogusław Bachorczyk. The work consisted of a solo exhibition, an artist book and a project website. The exhibition included: 45 miniature sculptures, two standing showcases housing an object and a miniature installation; two assemblages on canvas and three in hanging showcases. An artist's book was also presented at the exhibition, containing a commentary on the project along with a visual essay on collecting and gathering - the two main themes of the thesis. Below is an excerpt from the aforementioned commentary:
"The potentiality of the act of gathering is of particular interest to me in the process of working with the materials resulting from this act. This is because the elements I gather end up in my archive which is a database of found objects for my artistic activities in assemblage, collage or larger forms of installation. In this process, the poetic or metaphorical dimension of gathering - which is looking for things, finding them - becomes apparent. When I create a work of found objects, I try to find them, to search for them, to look for them. In practice, this involves a permanent contact with materials, objects and elements and a constant attempt to juxtapose, combine, penetrate, look at and observe them... This potentiality seems infinite, just as the universe of the gatherer seems to be infinite...."
