Wystawa zbiorowa, Galeria Pracownia Wschodnia, Warszawa 2025
The exhibition constituted a formal experiment aimed at providing a comprehensive description of the phenomenon of hoarding. In our view, the compulsive urge to accumulate objects is a symptom of a collective trauma arising from the paradoxes of contemporary life. Individuals affected by hoarding transform the intimate space of their homes into a field of expression for the capitalist compulsion of overproduction.
This phenomenon, embedded within contemporary consumer culture, has been analysed for decades by philosophers and artists, beginning with phenomena such as Duchamp’s readymades and continuing with contemporary installations by Robert Kuśmirowski. The exhibition sought to capture the complex specificity of hoarding as a phenomenon in relation to contemporary culture, philosophy, art, as well as the depths of the human psyche and human trauma.
